Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026. App: Mess-tronome for iPhone. Developer: Joshua White.
The short version
Mess-tronome does not collect any information about you or your children. We have no servers that the app talks to, no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no third-party code that sends data anywhere. We could not give you your data even if you asked, because we never receive it.
What stays on your device
If you unlock Premium and add kid profiles, the app stores each profile's name or nickname, chosen animal and colour, and the stars and session counts you give, in the app's private storage on your device. Your settings (for example, the tempo you last used and whether haptics are on) are stored the same way. This information is never sent to us or to anyone else by the app. You can remove a profile, and its stars, from the kid picker; deleting the app removes everything. Your own device backups (such as iCloud Backup) may include app data; those are controlled by you and Apple, not by us.
Children
Mess-tronome is made for families with young children and is in the App Store's Kids Category. It is operated by a parent or guardian. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, including children under 13, we do not collect personal information from children as described in the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or similar laws such as Canada's PIPEDA. There is no advertising, no tracking, no behavioural profiling and no link in the app that sends a child outside it: buying, restoring purchases, sharing, rating, contacting support and opening legal pages are all behind a "grown-ups only" question.
Purchases
Premium is a one-time purchase made through the App Store. Apple handles payment, receipts and refunds under your Apple ID and Apple's own privacy policy. The app only learns, through Apple's on-device purchase system, whether this device has unlocked Premium. We do not see your name, payment details or Apple ID. "Restore Purchases" asks Apple whether you have already bought it.
Contacting support
If you choose "Contact Support", the app opens your email app with a message addressed to messtronome@oldjard.com. The message includes the phone platform and iOS version, which you can edit or delete before you send. If you send it, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use them only to reply to you. We do not add them to a mailing list. We delete support emails when the matter is resolved, and you can ask us to delete them sooner.
Crash reports
The app has no crash-reporting software. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us anonymous crash reports. These contain no names or identifiers for you or your child.
Changes
If this ever changes, for example if a future version collects anything, we will update this page, change the date above, and the App Store privacy label will change with it. We will not collect new kinds of information from children without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.
